A friend of mine has a '92 GT32(327cc). Every time we go riding, the spark plug foules after appox 2 hours. I am a licenced mechanic, and a certified outboard mechanic. This bike is turning my hair grey! We have the needle all the way down, the float is white in color and set properly. The idle mixture screw has to be turned all the way in to run properly. I have a feeling we should replace the pilot jet because the idle mixture doesn't seem to adjust properly. I think the engine should almost die when the mixture screw is in that far. We are running a NGK BP5ES spark plug. Other things we have checked are: crank seals, new coil, stator and trigger output, new reeds. Could you please get me the stock # for the main jet, pilot jet, and the needle. Any help would really be apreciated.

I'm assuming that you are riding below 6000 ft altitude. Sounds like you have checked things out well. Try the following changes for the 92 GT32 (courtesy of Jim Snell of Rising Sun Imports); Main jet-86 to 92, 90 is good to start (98 is stock). Pilot-38 (stock). Needle-D36 (stock) set at top or 2. Needle Jet-268 (stock). Slide-#40 (stock). Float Height-26mm (stock). Cut the opening on the airbox lid 2cm larger. I'd try a BP5EV (rare earth type) set at .020 to .022 in. The lesser setting is recommended by Dale Malasek, Gas-Gas Importer. I've found the "V" type NGK less prone to fouling and has a slightly extended heat range. If you are riding at over 6000 ft, let me know and I'll give you the spec.'s for that. Feel free to contact me if you need more help or some Grecian Formula #9 (for the grey hair!). Jon
