Jon:

On the GasGas webpage the recommended NGK plug is listed as BP5RES. In my catalog there is an NGK plug BPR5ES. Are they the same?

Thanks for your help,

Mike

Mike,

The "R" indicates that is a resistor plug. It will work fine in your bike. The resistor plug is designed to not interfere with radio reception and the factories are somewhat obligated to recommend this type of plug. Either one will work well. You might want to try a NGK BP5EV, which is the "fine wire" type plug, which will also work good. It's a little more expensive but is less prone to fouling, takes less voltage to fire and has an extended heat range.
