Raga takes his sixth win out of eight rounds!
Adam Raga's grip on the 2003 World Indoor Trials title is getting ever-tighter, as he claims his sixth victory out of 8, and his fifth in a row! Adam now is in such a strong position he need only finish on the podium in the final 3 rounds to take the crown. This type of dominance has not been seen since the beginning of Lampkins' reign many years ago, and could signify a changing of the guard in World Championship Trials. Certainly Raga is demonstrating more confidence than any other rider, as well as the determination and consistency it takes to finish repeatedly on top. Raga's unique style has now developed into a powerful advantage in many of the sections, and the Gas Gas Pro he helped develop has performed flawlessly. It certainly appears that the leap in technology introduced with the PRO model has given an advantage over all the older designs it competes against.

The following is taken from the Octagon Esedos Press Release;

The Spaniard clinched his sixth victory in the season and strenghtens his leadership with 15 point average ahead of Lampkin.

Pesaro, February 21th

Adam Raga showed again his excellent fit with a fantastic performance today in Pesaro, eighth round in Series. The Spaniard clinched his sixth win in the championship, the fifth in a row, and has increased his average ahead of Dougie Lampkin, second place in the italian venue, to 15 points.

Raga achieved his pass to the final with the best penalty point card in the qualification lap, only six points, one less than Albert Cabestany. Marc Freixa and Dougie Lampkin fought for the last place in the second lap. The Spaniard has one point of difference over the Brit before the dual lane, but Freixa lost the head to head and after made a fool five in the tie break section.

Raga opened a gap in third section, when cleaned the hazard that Lampkin and Cabestany made five. In the huge ladder Raga returned to clean a section that became impossible for his rivals. The Gas Gas' rider beat Lampkin in the final dual race, proving his clear dominance during all the race.

The Pesaro Indoor Trial had six observed sections, plus one high jump and one double lane race that were attempted at the end of the circuit. In the second lap, the sections were faced in the reverse order except the last two hazards, and with one minute of time limit, one minute and a half for the fifth section. IN the first lap, the riders could spend nine minutes of time to complete the circuit.

With this new victory, Raga was enough to get the title finishing in podium places in the three rounds left. The coming event will be held next saturday 1st March in St. Petersburg (Russia). The event starts at 03,00PM (local hour).
