We haven't received an on site report from Arizona as yet, but from analysing the results it appears that Geoff Aaron avoided his usual slow starts to take two commanding wins, leading from the front and controlling the events on both days. Geoffs first loop on Saturday of just 9 points gave him a handy margin that he never relinquished. His second loop of 12 could have left him slightly vulnerable, but none of the other riders knocked out stellar second loops either. On lap 3 Geoff raised his level and went round the entire loop for a single point.
On Sunday, the riders were competition ready from the start. The more experienced campaigners all improved their scores and gapped the less experienced riders
The most noteable performance was Keith Wineland as the closest challenger to Geoff on Saturday. On observation, Keith was only 6 points behind Geoff at the end of the day, and 7 in front of 3rd placed Cody Webb. Perhaps this is the year Keith will find the consistency to match his brilliance.
